Ok, so this one’s definitely not close, but if you’re making a California road trip adventure out of our wedding (which we sincerely hope you are), this place is unmissable! Liana lived in the area for four wonderful years and has all the recommendations if you reach out to her. A few classics that are classic for a reason: the waterfall at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, Bixby Bridge, and Keyhole Arch at Pfeiffer Beach. If you’re looking for a drink on a hot day, check out the Big Sur Taphouse (our all-time post-hike favorite right across from access to the Ventana Wilderness) or the Big Sur River Inn (claim one of the Adirondack chairs in the river to cool down on a hot day).

While you’re in the area, check out the incredible food and drink options in Monterey and Carmel Valley - of special note are Captain & Stoker’s avocado toast, Alta Bakery pastries, Culture Mexican food, and so much more.
